Fannin Counseling & Art Therapy Call For Artists!
Anniversary exhibition opening Friday, March 1
Application Deadline: February 1, 2019
Anniversary Effect | Friday, March 1 – Friday, April 5, 2019
No cost to apply – All artists & individuals welcome.
La Crosse, WI–Fannin Counseling & Art Therapy is celebrating its one year anniversary with their upcoming exhibition, Anniversary Effect.
Artists may submit works in all modes and media reflecting on the “anniversary effect,” defined as a unique set of feelings, thoughts, or memories associated with the anniversary of a significant experience.
The calendar can often serve as a conduit from a given emotional state to its triggering events. The anniversary effect does not necessarily have a time-specific relationship, and may have broad, wide-ranging associations with seasons and weather, as well as a precise connection to a specific event, down to the exact day and hour of its occurrence.
Anniversary reactions can allow individuals to explain and identify with their emotional state. These reactions are diverse and unique, and may signify everything from unresolved emotional trauma to the lifelong effects of growth, healing, coping, and change.
Applications for Anniversary Effect are due by February 1, 2019, and can be found here. There is no cost to apply.
