La Crosse, WI – Fannin Counseling & Art Therapy (129 6th St S, La Crosse, across from the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman) will be hosting a first show for brothers Steve and Mike Schulze, of Marlin Custom Builders. Utilizing reclaimed wood, handcrafted frames, acrylic paint, and epoxy, the brothers call from a life spent on the Mississippi River.
Themes range from daily life on Brice Prairie, childhood memories boating on the Mississippi, and the greater outdoors of the Midwest. Besides paintings, the brothers will be showcasing reclaimed slab wood tables, fabricated from the ground up, that utilize outcast scraps. The mixed media art and furniture will debut Friday, May 11, 2018, and run through July 6, 2018.
The Brothers, Epoxy, and Mixed Media Show is running concurrently with “Shadow Photo” a collaboration between photographer and individual, inviting artists to participate in a process that is part portrait photography, part exploration of personal perception of the shadow self.
